Indiana Pharmacies Making Vaccinations More Available

A new law is taking effect in Indiana allowing community pharmacies to offer a wider range of vaccines to the community. This law allows pharmacists to provide five different immunizations without a prescription.

Pharmacists are among the most trusted health professionals and independents are leading the way when it comes to service. This new law will allow independent pharmacies to provide vaccinations at the pharmacy without having to make a doctors appointment and delaying vaccination.

This new legislation allows the community pharmacist to  vaccinate against pneumonia, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, HPV infections and meningitis. And several insurance companies will cover the cost of vaccinations provided by pharmacists.

Many consumers have delayed or missed getting a needed vaccinations due to having to make an appointment with the doctor which sometimes can take weeks. We now have a streamlined process, walk in to the pharmacy ask for your vaccine which is then delivered by the pharmacist. Simple and convenient.
